I’ve played other Splinter Cell games before, so I largely knew what to expect – crouching in shadows, limited use of weapons, and tons of gadgets. What disappointed me was the limited number of ways to play through each section. At every corner, there were not-so-subtle clues as to the method the developers ‘wanted’ you to play through that section. An obvious placed object becomes an obvious distraction for guards later on. This is a game that should NOT play exactly like Hitman, with a limited flexibility for ‘creative solutions’. Yes, I do have a very ‘open world’ style of play, but I certainly shouldn’t feel restricted when playing.
